3.5-5 x 1.8-3 cm; subelliptic to oval; apex obtuse; base rounded or slightly cordate; margin entire, most often rolled under; sometimes toothed; adaxially with fascicled and multiradiate hairs, glabrescent; densely covered with pale grey hairs beneath (glandular simple uniseriate, and solitary and fascicled hairs); 6-10 vein pairs, impressed obove, at an angle of 50° with midrib; petiole 2-4 mm long, brown, tomentose;

April-May; pistillate inflorescences less than 1 cm long; male catkin 1-3 cm long, tomentose;

Fruits

acorn 1 cm long, 0.8 cm in diameter; ovoid, glabrous, apiculate; 1 to 2 on a 0,5 cm long axis; enclosed 1/2 by cup; cup with triangular, grey tomentose scales; maturing in 1 year;
