Leaves

6-10 (-15) cm x 1.5-3.5 cm; 5 to 6 times longer than wide; leathery; lanceolate to narrowly elliptical; apex acuminate, aristate; base cuneate or attenuate, seldom rounded; margin revolute, minutely crispate, entire; adaxially glossy, green without any shade of blue-green, hairless except sometimes a very scattered stellate pubescence at base of midrib; abaxially hairless except sometimes some stellate trichomes at base; 12-15 vein pairs, smooth or remotely raised above, prominent beneath, at an angle of 70-80° with the midrib, and connected each other before reaching the margin; petiole 2-6 mm long, glabrescent.

acorn subglobose, 1.1 cm long x 0.9 cm wide, solitary on a glabrous, 3-8 mm long peduncle; enclosed 1/4 by cup; cup 5 mm high, 7-11 mm wide, with broadly ovate scales; maturing in 1 year;
