5-8 cm; lanceolate, flat; leathery; pointed, base rounded or truncate; margin entire with 2-5 pairs of teeth; shiny green above, with some yellowish, large, stellate hairs; tufts of dense hairs beneath, at leaf axils; petiole 5-10 mm, hairy;

staminate flowers on hairy, 3 cm long catkins;
Fruits
acorn 1.5 cm, ovoid; pointed; stalkless; cup scaly, pale brown, hairy inside and outside, enclosing 1/3 of nut; maturing in 1 year;
