4.5-10 x 1.5-3 cm; oblanceolate, oblong-elliptic or elliptic-lanceolate; thick; glabrous, lustrous and shiny above; hairless, whitish beneath; margin entire, rolled under, remotely serrate near apex; apex acuminate to obtuse; base cuneate, slightly oblique; midrib and secondary veins raised beneath, flat adaxially; 6-10 vein pairs; tertiary veins slender, evident; petiole 1-1.5 cm, glabrescent;

April-May; female inflorescences 1-2 cm ; styles 2-3 mm long;

acorn 1.5 cm long, 2 cm in diameter; oblong or globose, both ends flattened; singly or paired; densely tomentose; enclosed only at the base by cup; cup thin, less than 1.6 cm long and more than 2 cm wide, with 4-6 concentric rings of scales denticulate at rim; cup tomentose outside and inside; scar 7-10 mm wide, depressed; maturing in 1 year;
