12-20 x 2.5-5 cm; oblong-elliptic to elliptic-lanceolate; base rounded or broadly cuneate; apex acuminate; densely pale brown tomentose beneath with stellate hairs; margin serrate; midrib prominent beneath; 16-24 secondary vein pairs, adaxially impressed, abaxially prominent; tertiary veins obscure beneath; petiole greyish stellate tomentose, 3-4 cm long;

April-May; female inflorescences at apex of new shoots, solitary, tomentose, 1 cm long;

Fruits

acorn 1.5 cm in diameter, 2 cm long; ovoid to ellipsoid; hairy at first, then glabrous; enclosed 1/2 by cup; cup bowl-shaped, 1 cm long, 1.5-1.8 cm wide, outside tomentose, inside sericeous, with 5-7 concentric rings of scales with margin denticulate; scar 8 mm in diameter, slightly convex; maturing in 1 year in October-November;
