6-10 x 1.5-4 cm; elliptic narrow or broadly lanceolate; subleathery; abundant brown tomentum below (8-10- rays stellate hairs), especially on basal part; base rounded or weakly cuneate, apex sharp pointed; margin denticulate near apex, rarely entire (then not revolute); 10-15 secondary vein pairs prominent only abaxially; tertiary veins evident beneath; petiole greyish brown, velutinous, 1-2 cm;
Flowers
female inflorescence 1.5-2 cm, densely tomentose; 4 styles free almost to their base;
Fruits
acorn globose, both ends flattened, 1.5 cm in diameter, velutinous; 2 to 6 (or more) together on short peduncles; cup shallow, 2 mm thick, covering only base of nut, both inside and outside grey brown tomentose; scales in 5-7 concentric rings, greyish pubescent, margin basal 2 crenulate;
