Quercus camusiae Trel. ex Hickel & Camus

Vietnam (Khanh Hoa Province, Hon Ba Nature Reserve); 990-1500 m;

12-15(-20) m; trunc to 0.35-0.50 m in diameter;

9-13 x (2.5-) 3-5.5 cm; oblong or ovate; apex attenuate; base attenuate; adaxially hairless and lustrous; beneath dull, glabrescent (young leaves have a yellowish-brown tomentum); margin not undulate, nearly entire, with a few low teeth in apical 1/4; 8-13 vein pairs, prominent beneath, at an angle of 45° from the midrib; tertiary veins very thin; petiole 1-1.6 cm long, with a deciduous yellowish tomentum.

4-5 short, hairy styles; stigmas thick, bilobed.

acorn 1.5-2 cm long, subglobose, densely hairy, broadly mucronate, dark brown; 2 to 4 on a pubescent, 1.5-2.5 cm long spike; cupule sessile, enclosing less than half nut, withish velvety, with 6 rings of scales hidden in the tomentum and with bract margin sparsely dissected in the lower rings; basal scar slightly convex, 0.7-0.8 cm in diameter; cotyledons connate; maturing first year.

Camus. – Threatened (IUCN Red List Category : CR) – Often considered as a synonym of Q. langbianensis , this taxon is today included in the Q. langbianensis Complex by Binh & Ngoc 2018;
